Michael Gannon is a British artist and photographer based in Porto, Portugal, where he lives with his wife, Mariana, and their son, Sebastian. Known for his calm, observational style, Michael’s work explores themes of place, memory, and connection through light, form, and setting. In 2019, he photographed the cover of Vogue Latin America’s 20th-anniversary edition. In March 2025, Ark Journal published his portrait feature of Álvaro Siza, photographed at the architect’s office in Porto a rare chance to document one of Portugal’s, and the world’s, most revered architects within his own working space.
